Acabo de actualizar mi web con una nueva serie. Se trata de fotos hechas durante la noche en la localidad inglesa de Lewes. Empecé este pequeño proyecto hace un año, cuando sentí la necesidad de fotografiar ese lugar ajeno que, por circunstancias personales, empezaba formar parte de mi entorno. En un principio, al explorar de madrugada aquellas calles, tenía la impresión de estar solo. Un fantasma que se detenía unos momentos frente a una esquina vacía y seguía luego vagando al azar. Sin embargo, algo curioso sucedió cuando empecé a examinar las primeras imágenes: estaba absolutamente equivocado. En todas ellas había ventanas oscuras, muros, árboles,… Me di cuenta de que en esos sitios, en el fondo de aquellas sombras espesas, había siempre vigilantes silenciosos e inmóviles que me observaban mientras yo, sin saberlo, les hacía una foto.

I have just updated my website with a new series. They are pictures taken at night in Lewes, England. I started this little project about two years ago, when I felt I had to photograph that unknown place which, for personal reasons, was becoming part of my environment. At the beginning, when exploring those streets late at night, I thought I was alone. I was a ghost that stopped opposite an empty corner for a while and then kept on wandering. However, something unexpected happened when I started examining the first images: I was absolutely wrong. In all the pictures there were dark windows, walls, trees,… I realized that in those places, within the thick shadows, there were always silent spectators watching me while I took their photograph.
