Exposición: 11th Night Bonfires
Desde hoy hasta el 6 de mayo el Espacio Oblicuo del Centro Cultural Provincial de la Diputación de Málaga (C/ Ollerías 34) acogerá la exposición 11th Night Bonfires, una serie de fotografías realizada por Manuel Jiménez Mérida. Las imágenes reflejan los preparativos de las grandes hogueras que arden en los barrios de Belfast cada 11 de julio precediendo a las Orange Order Parades. Fotografía documental clásica en blanco y negro, un verdadero placer.

Exhibition: 11th Night Bonfires - From today until the 6th May the Espacio Oblicuo, in the Centro Cultural Provincial de la Diputación de Málaga (C/ Ollerías 34) will be exhibiting a series of photographs by Manuel Jiménez Mérida entitled 11th Night Bonfires. The images show the preparations for the huge bonfires that burn all over Belfast on the 11th July every year before the Orange Order Parades. Classic documentary photography in black and white, a true pleasure.

In search of… Paris
Billete de ida y vuelta a París para ver a Fu-manchu en compañía de dos amigos músicos. Gira aniversario del In search of…, tercer álbum de la banda y uno de los más legendarios, que tocaron al completo. Dejamos nuestra ciudad a las 7 de la mañana, y a la misma hora del día siguiente tomamos el tren de vuelta. Demasiado tarde para quedarse en un bar, demasiado temprano para buscar un hostal. Un concierto inolvidable, terribles dolores de cuello y muchas horas en Montparnasse.
Return trip with two fellow musicians to Paris, where Fu-Manchu were playing. Celebration of the anniversary of their third album, In search of…, which they were going to play in its entirety. We left our town at 7 am, and we had to take the train back at the same time the following day. Too late to stay in a bar but too early to look for a hostel. Unforgettable concert, severe neck pains and too many hours at Montparnasse.

Hace dos fines de semana visité a esta mujer en Madrid. El relato de los golpes de mala suerte en los que se ha visto envuelta -casi todos relacionados con la salud de su familia- es uno de los más vastos que conozco. A pesar de todo, se sigue mostrando fuerte y optimista. Algunos tenemos mucho que aprender.
Two weekends ago I visited this woman and her family in Madrid. She has one of the longest list of family misfortunes I know, mostly health-related. Despite that, she is very strong and positive. An example for a lot of us.

Donostia – Múnich – Donostia
Viaje de ida y vuelta en coche entre Múnich y Donostia. Son muchos kilómetros y, al ir solo, la carretera acaba convirtiéndose en un lugar extrañamente familiar.
I drove to Munich and back from the Basque Country. It is a long way and, being on my own, the road ended up becoming an oddly familiar place.
