Justo antes de mudarme pasé un fin de semana con mis amigos en Santoña. Decidí olvidarme un poco de cámaras e imágenes durante esos días. Bueno, solo un poco: limité mis ansias a una vieja Rolleiflex, un carrete y un único paseo. El fruto son estas 6 fotos. El camping de la playa -que corona la colina que hay en ella- y una roca, fotografiada desde los cuatro puntos cardinales respetando las luces y sombras del mediodía de verano.

The beach and the rock – Just before moving I spent a weekend in Santoña with my mates. I decided to forget a bit about cameras and images during those days. Well, just a little bit: I allowed myself my old Rolleiflex, one roll and a single walk. From that I got these 6 photographs. The beach campsite – set on top of the hill – and a rock, pictured from the four cardinal points and respecting the lights and shadows of the summer noon.

La semana pasada me mudé. Regreso a Andalucía después de varios años en el norte de España. Allí he hecho muchos amigos a los que voy a echar de menos. Gontzal es uno de ellos. Entre otras muchas cosas es DJ, y ahora está en el hospital a causa de una hernia de disco (la enfermedad de los DJs, como él la llama). Debe de ser muy duro para él -es una de las personas más enérgicas que he conocido nunca-. Esto es un pequeño homenaje para que se recupere pronto.

Last week I moved back to Andalusia after some years living in the north of Spain. I made many friends there whom I am certainly going to miss. Gontzal is one of them. Among many other things, he is a DJ, and he is in hospital now due to a slipped disc (the DJ’s sickness, as he likes to call it). It must be very hard for him since he is one of the most energetic people I have met. This is just a little homage wishing him to recover soon.
