Scott Conarroe es -desafortunadamente y espero que por poco tiempo- casi un desconocido en España. A pesar de disfrutar de una trayectoria envidiable en el panorama de la fotografía documental comtemporánea de Canadá y EEUU, ha pasado desapercibido para muchos de nosotros. Su reconocimiento más reciente ha sido el premio Duke and Duchess of York Prize in Photography, que ha recibido esta primavera. Debo confesar que yo no lo descubrí hasta hace poco más de un año. Desde entonces, soy un incansable seguidor de su trabajo, que recomiendo encarecidamente a los amantes de la fotografía a la vez purista y enigmática. En la entrevista que tengo el honor de publicar hoy, Scott no solo desvela aspectos formales y prácticos de su obra, sino que nos lleva de la mano por su lado más conceptual, su desarrollo como fotógrafo y su andadura por el mundo del arte. 10 questions for Scott Conarroe - Unfortunately and I hope not for long, Scott Conarroe has been almost unknown in Spain. Despite an outstanding career in the Canadian and American scene of contemporary and documentary photography he has gone unnoticed by many of us. His latest recognition was the Duke and Duchess of York Prize in Photography, which he received last spring. I must confess I did not discover him until just over a year ago. Since then, I have been a tireless supporter of his work, which I strongly recommend to those who love a kind of photography both purist and enigmatic. In the interview that I have the honor of publishing today, Scott reveals not only formal and practical aspects of his work, but he also tells us about his conceptual side, his development as a photographer and his journey through the world of art. I would like to thank him for his sincere collaboration, his priceless advice and, of course, the impressive body of work he offers to us.
